Discover the Alarming Truth about Statins

Statins are HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, meaning they block the enzyme in your liver that is responsible for producing cholesterol. They also block your CoQ10 production – another dangerous side effect that I'll discuss later.

Millions of people, including one-fourth of Americans over the age of 45, are now taking statins. Some "experts" even claim that millions more, including children, should be taking these drugs.

I couldn't disagree more.

I believe that statins are one of the most dangerous and unnecessary drugs on the market. Yes, they can lower your cholesterol levels by 50 points or more, making it appear as though they are improving your health.

But they are not, because cholesterol is essential to your body. It is crucial for a wide variety of vital functions, and is an integral part of your cell membranes. It is the precursor for steroid hormones, including vitamin D.

Cholesterol is NOT the cause of heart disease. In fact, statin use can lower your cholesterol to dangerous levels which may actually put you at a higher risk of severe health problems.

What's more, many health issues can manifest after taking statins. Statin users often misinterpret these problems as brand-new health conditions – even though they are commonly associated with the use of cholesterol drugs!

Statin Side Effects Are Real and Dangerous

Statin drugs cause side effects, perhaps not immediately. There are now over 900 studies showing the adverse effects of these medications, including:

Muscle pain and weakness Cataracts
Cognitive loss Sexual dysfunction
Anemia Pancreas or liver dysfunction
Acidosis

Studies have also discovered a link between statins and diabetes, as these drugs can increase insulin resistance and raise your blood sugar.

Statins Can Cause Diabetes

Statins appear to provoke diabetes through a few different mechanisms. The primary mechanism is by increasing your insulin levels, which can be extremely harmful to your health. Chronically elevated insulin levels cause inflammation in your body, which is the hallmark of most chronic disease. In fact, elevated insulin levels lead to heart disease, which, ironically, is the primary reason for taking a statin drug in the first place!

It can also promote belly fat, high blood pressure, heart attacks, chronic fatigue, thyroid disruption, and diseases like Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and cancer.

Secondly, statins increase your diabetes risk by raising your blood sugar. When you eat a meal that contains starches and sugar, some of the excess sugar goes to your liver, which then stores it away as cholesterol and triglycerides. Statins work by preventing your liver from making cholesterol. As a result, your liver returns the sugar to your bloodstream, which raises your blood sugar levels.

If You Take Statins, You NEED to Supplement with CoQ10

Statins also deplete your CoQ10 production – this is probably one of the most dangerous statin side effects that should be known. CoQ10 is an important coenzyme produced in your liver, and is essential for cellular energy production. It is needed by your heart and other organs to function properly.

CoQ10 deficiency caused by statins also accelerates DNA damage, leading to fatigue, muscle weakness, soreness, and heart failure.

This is why I highly advise you to take a CoQ10 supplement if you're using statins. If you're over age 40, I recommend choosing ubiquinol, the reduced version of CoQ10.
