Sage May Improve Memory and Alzheimer's

 

Herbal encyclopedias have long listed sage (salvia) as a memory enhancer. Researchers set out to determine the efficacy of sage in young adults and found that a 50-microl dose of salvia essential oil significantly enhanced memory in the volunteers.

The two-trial experiment provides the first systematic evidence that sage is useful for memory function, at least in the short term.
