My Recommendation

By the time I finished reading Chapter 3, "Life and Death in a Long Hollow Tube: The Importance of the GI Tract," I knew I'd be recommending this book in my e-newsletter. Dr. Jordan Rubin -- as a medical professional, a leader in the healthcare world, and perhaps most of all someone who has also really "been there" as a patient with serious disease that he overcame - displays both a strong depth and breadth of health and nutrition knowledge in The Maker's Diet and also an engrossing way of conveying that knowledge to readers.

To fully describe the many reasons you should read The Maker's Diet would take pages, but I'll offer a few key reasons here.

The Three I's

First, his program is designed around attacking the "Three I's" that have everything to do with the chronic diseases that are currently plaguing the nation (and merely being patched over by the existing medical establishment dominated by the drug companies):
