Who Else Wants to Be the Next Staff Physician for Dr. Mercola's World-Renowned Natural Health Center?
If it's YOU, you'll organize, direct, and provide medical diagnostic and treatment services in a world-famous natural health practice setting, and perform other related duties as required.
We are open to both full and part time positions.
You'll need active licensure as a physician in Illinois.
Here are just a few examples of what you'll be doing:
- You'll provide physician services in a natural health clinic setting and a variety of health educational programs; diagnose conditions; provide general medical care; review laboratory findings; prescribe appropriate treatment; refer patients to appropriate community providers for special diagnostic testing or treatment and coordinate treatment plans.
- Provide medical leadership and consultation to mid-level practitioners on prevention, diagnosis, care, and treatment of health problems; may provide clinical supervision to and direct the work of mid-level practitioners, nurses, and support staff; may participate in public education programs concerning health issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and prepare comprehensive reports; review and countersign charts as required; consult with other members of the staff and with private physicians concerning patients' medical histories; correctly code all services rendered; conduct seminars and training for staff.
- Attend weekly medical staff meetings and other meetings as requested; remain current on policies and procedures relative to the practice of natural medicine; coordinate with other medical providers in the implementation and review of policies and procedures; actively participate in peer review and other quality improvement activities; meet performance and quality indicators as determined by the natural health center administration.
Here's what you need to know now:
Physician:
- Requires graduation from an accredited school of medicine with a M.D. or D.O. degree,
- Completion of a residency and board certification in any appropriate specialty,
- By the time of appointment, possession of a valid certificate as a physician or surgeon issued by the State of Illinois and a current Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
Additional Qualifications:
You must possess or be willing to obtain broad understanding of natural and alternative approaches to medical care to include but not be limited to
- Functional medicine,
- Natural hormone replacement,
- Orthomolecular medicine,
- Herbal medicine,
- Homeopathy,
- Heavy metal detoxification and
- Other appropriate modalities.
Knowledge of:
- The principles and practices of modern medicine; human anatomy and physiology; medical terminology; community resources in medical treatment;
- Knowledge of pharmacology including laws regarding informed consent, dosage ranges, drug incompatibilities, and side effects;
- ICD-9 and CPT coding and billing principles;
- Standard English grammar and usage.
You also need the ability to:
- Assess symptoms and make an accurate diagnosis;
- Prescribe treatment appropriate to the patient's condition and situation;
- Have excellent patient rapport
- Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms;
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, the public, and other company employees;

If it's YOU, you'll be operating in concert with and under the direction of a licensed physician, performing a broad range of medical services in a world-famous natural health practice setting.
Here are just a few examples of what you'll be doing:
- You'll provide general medical care; review laboratory findings; prescribe essential treatment; refer patients to appropriate community providers for special diagnostic testing or treatment, and coordinate healing therapy plans.
- You'll review and maintain patient medical records and prepare comprehensive reports as required; consult with other providers concerning patients' medical histories; and correctly code all services rendered.
- You'll attend weekly medical staff meetings and other meetings as requested; remain current on policies and procedures relative to the practice of natural medicine; coordinate with other medical providers in the implementation and review of policies and procedures; actively participate in peer review and other quality improvement activities; meet performance and quality indicators as determined by the Natural Health Center administration.
- You'll update patient notes and medical orders to be reviewed and signed as directed.

- Graduation from an accredited school with certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- Possession of a valid certificate as a Physician Assistant issued by the State of Illinois
- Current Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
If you are a Nurse Practitioner you will need:
- Graduation from an accredited school with an Advanced Degree in Nurse Practice
- Possession of a valid certificate as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the State of Illinois
- Current Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
