A: No, the Way Healthier Air Purifier ionizer has self --limiting technology that will not negatively charge the walls, which will attract particulate creating the grey wall effect. However, since the particles drop to the floor, they must be swept up or vacuumed to be disposed of.

A: The units are intended to be used in a large room (350-750sq ft) and are not recommended for smaller rooms such as bedrooms. When a large system is used in a small area such as a bedroom, you may notice a sterile, metallic smell. That's because this is a pro-active system that is helping to disinfect your home or office. Also, it may cause a slight headache or burning eyes sensation if used in too small an area.

Q: Is this system harmful for people and their pets?
A: No, the only known side effect occurs when we put too large of a system in a small area with a highly sensitive person. This may cause a slight headache or burning eyes. Simply open the area up, turn the unit off or move it into a large area. We do not know of any long-term side effects.

Q: Can one system cover the whole house?
A: The system is designed to treat open areas. For example, if your living room, dining room, and kitchen were all fairly open to each other, you would want to use the size unit for that square footage. This unit can also be used in conjunction with your central heating and air system by placing the unit in front of your fresh air return. The fresh air return is where the filter goes and is usually located in a hallway or central location. This allows the technology to circulate through your ductwork and into multiple rooms in your home. To get maximum treatment in your home, multiple units may be required.

A: Yes, the unit is four inches tall, weighs about four pounds, and has a nine-foot cord to plug it in. It was designed with portability in mind. It is recommended to move the product around to ensure that the product is going to work well for you and your family.
The manufacturer states that to treat your entire home, set the fan switch on your heating/cooling system to ON rather than the AUTO position, open all interior doors and place unit so purified air flows into the air return vent.

A: The system is intended to be left on at all times. However, it can be turned on and off to prolong the life of the lamp module. Keep in mind that organics in the air we are trying to clean tend to grow back and multiply if the unit is not left running at all times.

A: No true maintenance is required, because there is no fan moving air through the product like most air purifiers. No fan means no moving parts, which will give you a much more reliable product than others do on the market. However, the lamp module will need replacing as needed (see next question).

A: The running hours on the lamp module are about 9,000 hours. If you use the product around the clock, it will last you over a year. In fact, the lamp module has a one-year warranty. The manufacturer recommends replacing it annually.

Q: I understand that it uses TiO2 or Titanium Dioxide in a reaction with UV light to produce OH. So is not the TiO2 a toxic compound that goes into the air capable of causing lung damage? Are not the OH molecules potentially dangerous too?
A: TiO2 is "Non Toxic"! TiO2 is used in paints to create bright white finishes, as well as in cosmetics and many other products. OH molecules are oxidants; high concentrations can be irritants. The life of an OH is less than a second. Within that time frame, it will have reacted with an organic converting to carbon dioxide and water.

A: The process of ionization involves the negatively charged ions that come out of the unit, travel throughout the home attracting positively charged particulates. The process is called agglomeration. The particulates become heavier and fall to the surfaces, i.e. furniture, table tops, counters, floors, thus taken care of by normal home cleaning procedures. Because these particulates are heavier than air, they do not get re-airborne. There is no mechanism inside. The unit does photo-ionization and needlepoint ionization. One thing to be aware of: since the particles simply drop to the floor, they must be swept up and/or vacuumed to be disposed of. If they are not disposed of properly, they remain in the home and could negatively impact indoor air quality, particularly for those with breathing issues.

Q: We have been using our Way Healthier Home Purifier for about eleven (11) days and started to experience burning eyes. We turned it off and have not experienced that sensation again. Does this type of purifier create nitric acid? In the past, we have had the same experience with other equipment that used negative ions in air purification. The unit was placed on top of a six-foot bookcase and seemed to be doing a good job. What other possibility could be causing the burning eyes sensation?
A: No, it does not produce nitric acid. The problem is the large unit is being used in too small of an area. Open the area up and move the unit to a larger area.

Q: What is the warranty for this product?
A: Way Healthier Products, LLC warrants, to the original purchaser, this product against defects in materials and workmanship excluding the replaceable lamp module, for a period of three (3) years from the date of purchase. The lamp module is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year prorated from the date of purchase. Defects or failures due to shipping/handling, improper use or maintenance, including abuse or neglect, normal wear, accidents, alterations or modifications, or unauthorized repair are specifically excluded from this warranty.
