My Favorite Search Engines

If you don't find the answer on my site with the engine above, please use my absolute favorite search engine below, Google, to search the entire Internet. It currently gives you access to over 1 billion web pages. I use it every day.

Hint, click the "Advanced" hyperlink when you reach Google's site and change 10 results to 100 results next to Google Search on the right. Press enter and get 100 ad-free hits without having to click a page for ten more hits. This is terrific!

Internet Search Engines

The NET is an unbelievable resource but you need to know how to find information on it. I have listed the BEST search engines for general information on the web.

Web Ferret is another great engine. You will have to download the engine to your hard disk. You can download Web Ferret by clicking HERE which will take you to download.com which is the best place to download free software. You will then need to double click on "Web Ferret Search Client 1.3". The program is under one meg and only takes a few minutes to download even on slow connections. Web Ferret in incredible as you can receive hundreds of hits from multiple search engines without having to keep pressing the NEXT button. It is quite slick as it inserts the Find Web Pages on your Start Bar in Windows.

This search engine I used to use the most is Google as it can actually display 100 hits on each page. Ask and Metacrawler use many different search engines and give comprehensive results as they include popular engines like Excite, Yahoo and Alta Vista. I have inserted the Metacrawler no graphics link to speed its loading for those of you who do not have broadband access.
