| Health
care costs to employees in employer-sponsored health plans have
risen some 48 percent over the last three years and will likely
increase again in 2004.
Although employers still pay the majority of the costs, employees
are facing higher insurance premiums, deductibles and prescription
drug co-payments. Deductibles and co-payments for hospital
care, which were once rare, are also becoming more common
as employers try to shift more costs to workers.
